Merrill, the visionary "Band Leader" and Founder of GOING TO A GO GO, is dedicated to establishing the band as the Treasure Coast's leading musical experience. He aims to revitalize the iconic sounds of 60s and 70s rock, a hallmark of the hippie era, blending them with the 60s era surf-music of Southern California, all delivered with a modern, dynamic flair & high-energy performance!
Merrill deeply believes in music's transformative power to unite people and foster positive change. He champions creativity and community, consistently striving to cultivate an environment that encourages artistic expression. Merrill is dedicated to supporting live music that resonates deeply, whether it's soulful and introspective, thought-provoking, or simply joyful and exhilarating, but for the most part - downright FUN!
Merrill's extensive experience in the music industry, honed through years of performing in many diverse venues from Jacksonville, Florida, to Hollywood, California, has instilled in him a profound understanding of the competitive live music landscape. He possesses a keen ability to deliver exceptional music that not only captivates audiences but also keeps them engaged and dancing throughout the performance.
Keeping the sounds of the 60s and 70s alive and recreating them with a fire and passion when he covers them in GOING TO A GO GO. Introducing a NEW generation to music that they missed only because of when they were born.
His commitment to ALL the GOING TO A GO GO Fans, and his bandmates bringing his "A" Game to every show!
With a remarkable 55+ years of bass playing under his belt, Rich brings a wealth of experience to GOING TO A GO GO. His musical journey includes headlining top Chicago bands, touring the Midwest college scene, and performing in Florida with a country show that opened for Nashville stars. He also spent years backing an Elvis tribute act, gracing fairs and venues across the region. Now, Rich is ready to share his passion and create memorable moments for Florida audiences.
Striving to be a great reincarnation of some of the iconic 60's and 70's "in the pocket" drummers, Jim is a natural fit for GOING TO A GO GO. Never too much, never too little - Jim isn't just the time keeper of the band, he is an integral part of the overall sound. He incorporates a unique blend of simplicity, swing, and a subtle, behind-the-beat fee. Along with his amazing drumming abilities, Jim also takes the Lead Vocals on several of the bands songs, and does Backup Vocals on many others - which he believes will help GOING TO A GO GO leave a lasting impression on Florida's Treasure Coast.
Peace, tranquility and respect for his bandmates - and his fans! Jim provides a dependable and steady foundation for the band. He reminds us that you can't take your band mates for granted and also provides a sympathetic ear and shoulder when needed. He gives GO GO a jazzy feel & he gives GO GO class. Above all - Jim is not afraid to give his honest opinion but still respecting his band mates -
Jim's lifelong love affair with music began in the mid-70s when he bought his first guitar and formed a garage band with high school friends. They played a few gigs, but sadly, like so many others, his musical aspirations soon took a backseat. He sold his Les Paul and embarked on a 36-year career in the building trades, while also spending most weekends as the perfect roadie for his wife's bands.
Then came late 2020. Retired and with my wife forming a new band, he decided to jump back in. Jim picked up a bass, then a Roland drum kit, and they have been playing together ever since— both in bands and as a duo. For Jim, music is a therapeutic escape, a source of fun, and a wonderful way to connect with like-minded friends. Jim finding GOING TO A GO GO, or GOING TO A GO GO finding Jim, was certainly fate - but either way - it is a match made in heaven!
Being part of an exciting fun band whose members share the same commitment and good vibes. Looking forward to getting Going to a Go Go to the next level. I'm driven to be part of a high-energy, fun band with members who are just as committed and positive as I am.
Music is the light I strive to spread, and for more than 15 years, I've had the privilege of teaching guitar to Veterans at VA clinics across New Jersey and Florida. Giving back also means offering free lessons to guitarists looking to advance their skills. My lifelong connection with music has been incredibly powerful, helping me navigate even the challenges of a rare cancer and chemotherapy, never missing a gig – the show truly must go on.
My involvement in the music scene has been extensive, ranging from behind the scenes as a road manager for various artists and on the air as a New York disc jockey, to performing live for many years with numerous bands in New Jersey and New York.
To ignite a new wave of music lovers by electrifying them with the iconic surf-rock sounds reminiscent of bands like The Beach Boys, The Ventures, and The Chantays, plus playing hits from iconic bands like "The Guess Who", "America", "The Beatles", "The Rolling Stones", "Steppenwolf" & "CCR", joing GOING TO A GO GO, Susan's focus is on revitalizing the spirit of the 60s and 70s.
As the vibrant pulse of our shared human experience, music, unites communities, and fosters a sense of belonging. My commitment to promoting live music in my community will always be an unparalleled dedication that remains steadfast and unrelenting.
My musical journey began in fifth grade with guitar lessons, music reading, and music theory. This foundation led to playing in local bands in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where I was recognized among the top 10 guitarists. Influenced by artists like Carlos Santana and Lynyrd Skynyrd, I've explored various genres and connected with accomplished music professionals, from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to Southern Florida.
