Our history
Led by Merrill Woods, a guitarist with over 30 years of experience, GOING TO A GO GO brings a unique blend of classic rock and psychedelic sounds to the stage. Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Merrill's musical journey has taken him across the country, from iconic venues like the Whisky a Go Go and House of Blues in California to local stages throughout North & South Florida.
Inspired by a desire to revive the timeless music of a bygone era, GOING TO A GO GO focuses on performing forgotten gems from the Woodstock era and the vibrant sounds of the 1970s. Expect to hear the music that fueled the counterculture movement and the anthems that blared from car radios during classic American road trips.
Originally formed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, GOING TO A GO GO has now found its home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida where they continue to share their passion for this timeless music with audiences throughout the region

Gone are the days of ear-splitting Marshall stacks; we've streamlined our backline with iconic amplifiers like the Fender Princeton Reverb (a studio staple), the classic VOX AC15, and the versatile Fender Blues Jr.
Our commitment to sonic excellence extends beyond gear selection. We strive for authentic renditions of the songs we cover, dedicating countless hours to perfecting individual parts and ensuring each performance honors the original.
